New Classes at Politics & Prose

Some great classes coming up at Politics & Prose—so many I’m not even listing them all.  I’m so disappointed that the class on T.S. Eliot & Robert Frost is sold out…guess that means act fast and register sooner rather than later!~~

Transport yourself to Mississippi this summer with a six-week intensive on William Faulkner: The 1930s. Taught by Joseph Fruscione, a professor at Georgetown and George Washington Universities, the course will cover three of Faulkner’s early novels: As I Lay Dying, Light in August, and The Wild Palms. Two week gaps between classes will give everyone plenty of time to read.

Popular P&P instructor Christopher Griffin will teach a three-part class on The Poetry of W.B. Yeats.

Novelist James Grady will teach a class on James Cain and the Birth of Noir, which looks at Double Indemnity and The Postman Always Rings Twice.

Science writer and author Michael Chorost will compare the dreams (and nightmares) of science fiction to the reality of cyborg technologies today in Cyborg Theory.

In This Green City, author Melanie Choukas-Bradley will discuss D.C.’s arboreal history, followed by a tree walk on the Capitol grounds.

And author Phyllis Theroux returns with her class on Journal Keeping.
